I just had to let this out

Ever since I let most of my hate out in my Big Brother rant, I have somewhat got over that crap, or at least realised the shows nearly as bad. Let me spit this all out, one show at a time, so I don't end up kicking my television.
Border Security...or patrol, I dont remember the title
Due to all the problems in the world, people are going to leave their own country, with some of these coming to Australia. When they arrive, they find out the shithouse refugee laws which lock people up because little Johnny doesn't like his foreigners. This should not be made into a TV show. Fiction, maybe. But nobody needs to have people watching them eagerly, wondering if they'll make it into the country.
Pure excrement about topics that should not become reality television.
The Biggest Loser
This is the worst show out there. If I ever needed to lose a few kilos, I would not be pushed into doing it by two obnoxious Americans, on national TV. If you want to lose weight, you should avoid having people tempt you with junk food, its psychological torture. I know many realise how pathetic this is, but it wont drown out the percentage of the population who will gladly laugh at the fat guys
Today Tonight
Uh huh, my favourite defamatory garbage. Everything shown will probably damage somebody;s reputation, and they're always the hard-done-by victims of ignorant, dominant, evil, villains. This is so incredibly one-sided and biased, that the people who watch and believe these shows will be major advertising targets. Any scandal, outrage, minor unfairness, etc. that is too trivial to appear on a news show will find its way here, after distortion. Its probably what happens to all rejected news stories.
Everybody Hates Chris
I love British comedy. Their stuff is among the funniest available, much of the time. Local Australian shows can be good, but few are as much so. However, 99% of American comedies imported to Australia are unfunny one liners from goofy characters.
Everybody hates Chris is no different, judging the commercials. I've never actually watched it, but if the funniest bit is his mum asking him to wipe his urainal matter off the toilet seat, I'll have to pass on this one.
Rove...but its not all bad
this really used to be one of my favourie shows...and some of it is still good. 'What the...?' is usually entertaining, but I gave up watching him for just that. His one liners are unfunny, and I just dont get why people laugh so hard at them. And large portions seem devoted to product placement and advertising purposes.
I'm sorry Rove, but the big band that plays at the end shouldn't be killed by credits. I'm pretty sure, though, that if Peter Hellier (sp?) hosted the show, it would be much funnier, like the best segments are.
Funniest Home Videos
I wont go too deep, but if they removed the precious laugh track, nobody would remember the show is supposed to be 'Funniest-Home Videos,' as opposed to 'mildly amusing clips featuring people getting hurt with stupid voiceovers'
Today Show
Dont want to go to work? Lets pretend you dont. This show is just an idea of trying to pretend you dont work, and that your life is just a party. Nobody needs this when they're half asleep, wearing nothing/pyjamas/underwear/clothes they would never leave the house in, eating forgotton cereal or a greasy fryup. Jessica Rowe adds to this phoney celebration, and she's an embarrassment to Australian television. I dont blame Eddie McGuire for wanting rid of her.
Video Hits
Yes, the request thing is pretty, but Rage has no commercials, and will play a good song, no matter how well known. Scrap the host, ringtone crap, hype, plugs, and crappy videos, and this may be somewhat worth watching. The top ten will change every week, but you will still get sick of the song in those weeks its up. Just like 92.9, when its out of the top 20, (which this band will be until next album, 2008) video hits will scrap it like all bad mainstream radio stations do. However, a pop song featuring unnessecary swearing, and content involving meaningless sex will appeal highly among gullible listeners.
Bert Newton's Family Feud
I'm kidding, I have no idea what its like, I just wanted to get Kait's attention. If I ever watch it and find I do hate it, I'll edit it in here (that is possible, right?)
edit; yes, it is possible |

| Many apologies for this, I was kicked off before I had time to proofread or even finish it. | 0 @ 12-07-2006 23:29 FireWaterBurn | 28,885 posts
| Haha, I don't really know anything about any of those shows...but that was a funny description of it...
Personally, I found the Funniest Home Videos one the best.
Haha, I laughed out loud. | 0 @ 12-07-2006 23:45 random_guy | 7,534 posts
| Thanks, Curt, I'm glad you liked it.
Most of these shows are Australian, so I didn't think alot of people would know them all | 0 @ 13-07-2006 09:28 random_guy | 7,534 posts
| I promise I'll proofread this at some point, but since I'm going away tomorrow morning, I wont get much chance...now that I've added a bit, though, I might as well bump | 0 @ 13-07-2006 10:12 cairowinters | 3,446 posts
| I watch Rove sometimes, and bits of it are funny (especially "what the"), but yeah some bits just leave you wondering "what the?"
I don't know any of the other shows. We have a version of Border Patrol here in NZ, but I've never watched it. I just can't imagine how it could possibly be entertaining. I don't like reality shows, but reality shows about things like that are the worst. | 0 @ 13-07-2006 11:26 yasmin256 | 137 posts
